Xavi: Neymar is not in Barcelona's plans
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez, confirmed that the former striker of the Catalan club, Neymar is not part of Camp Nou's transfer plans. There were reports that the Brazilian made an offer to Barca after Lionel Messi decided to continue his career at Inter Miami.
It has even been suggested that the PSG player would be willing to accept a lower salary just to return to the Spanish champions. But the 31-year-old footballer is not currently a player Barcelona are looking at, and Xavi said the same.
– In theory, he is not in our plans. I appreciate him enormously as a person, but he is not a priority - Xavi said.
In his career with Barcelona, Neymar won the Champions League once, the Copa del Rey three times, La Liga twice, and he also has one trophy each in the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
Xavi also spoke about Messi and his decision to sign for Inter Miami despite his strong ties to Barcelona.
- In the last days, weeks, I noticed that he did not clearly see his return. You have to understand that, it is not easy to be Messi. Everyone is interested in you, he never has peace. Leo explained that he had been unhappy for the past two years. I can understand that he doesn't want that much pressure anymore. I spoke a lot with him – are Xavi's words.
