Chalay: With the license plate agreement, a possible conflict between the police and the citizens of the north was avoided

The former director of the Kosovo Police Rashit Chalay stated that by reaching an agreement on license plates, a possible physical conflict between the Kosovo police and the citizens of four municipalities in the north of Kosovo was avoided, he announced Kosovo online.

"It's a good deal, and since it was reached, tensions in the north have eased. "However, we do not have enough information about the contract," Chalay points out.

Chalay added that Kurti made wrong moves and that he could have avoided all this earlier.

"I think that the position of Kosovo is disturbed because all the tensions are directed towards the Kosovo side. "We lost politically as a country and I hope that normality will return in the Government," said Chalay.

Last night, supporters of the Kosovo opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) they threw cherries at Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the entrance to the Government building, where he came to present the state budget for the coming year.

The footage shows security shielding Kurti from the "rain", after which he entered the building through a side entrance. As stated by the SDP, the reason for the incident is the agreement that the prime minister reached with Serbia regarding license plates.
