Teas to avoid if you have a cold
We have been taught since childhood that we should drink plenty of fluids when we have a cold, especially hot tea. However, caution is advised when choosing tea because not all of them are suitable for fighting stubborn cold symptoms. Herbal teas have healing properties, but if we choose the wrong herb – the symptoms can last even longer, writes "I live".

Try something else
Mint and chamomile have an aggravating effect on colds and flu. If taken too often, they dry out the mucous membranes. And that's exactly what we don't need in the fight against viruses because if our mucous membranes are dry – it won't help us.
Instead, we should drink sage tea, especially when we have a sore throat. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory essential oils, it is effective against this symptom. If we have a cough, we should reach for the healing thyme.
Of course, not drinking tea is even worse, and even if you drink peppermint or chamomile tea, nothing bad will happen. However, with a huge selection of teas, give yourself a break and try some others.
