Centar allowed the construction of the second building at "Holiday Inn", from "Shansa za Centar" they claim - the plan is illegal!

Municipality of Centar issued a permit for construction of the second of the planned three high-rise buildings in the space opposite "Holiday Inn", within the the "Grand" complex, after the firm MG Fashion submitted an application for a building permit more than a month ago. The mayor Goran Gerasimovski then informs that the number of floors of the second tower has been reduced, which instead of 18 floors, will be 11 and an attic.

In connection with the permit, the "Chance for the Center" initiative reacted today, from where they emphasized again that the entire urban plan according to which the permits are issued and which is already being built is illegal.

The plan in all its parameters violates the General Urban Plan of Skopje, and according to the Law on Urban Planning, this is illegal and such a plan must not be implemented. But the mayor and the municipality remain deaf to these facts! No matter that by issuing the permits, the Municipality is going against itself, against its own findings about how bad this plan is. These findings are precisely stated in the expert report on suspension prepared by the Municipality of Centar, with which the municipality demanded that this plan be suspended and that a new one be drawn up - say from "Chance for Center".

From there, they add that such illegal behavior is supported by other institutions such as the Public Prosecutor's Office, which for more than a year and a half does not respond to the initiative submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission, which in turn considers that there are a series of legal violations in the manner and procedure by which the urban plan was adopted which is being built and permits are issued for this space. The prosecutor's office has not yet answered whether it will open a case.
