It was turbulent in Croatian handball after the end of the World Championship in which Croatia won the ninth place, which was completely unacceptable for this country.

Changes in the national team were confirmed today. The selector is seeded Hrvoje Horvath, and it is also scattered Lino Cervar from the position of coordinator.

"After winning the 9th place at the WC 2023, which did not fulfill the intended goal, which was the quarterfinals and ensuring Olympic qualifications, an analysis was made, after which several decisions were made.

"Three vice-presidents of HRS have been elected: Boris Mesaric, Kreshmir Renzo Prosoli and Zoran Gobac. The board did not accept the report of the corvinator Lino Cervar, so it decided to dismiss the entire expert staff. The new coach is Goran Perkovac, who received unanimous support. The cooperation with Lino Cervar has also been completed", announced the Handball Union of Croatia.

Perovac has been working as a coach since 2000, he was the head coach of Greece (2007/2008) and of Switzerland from 2008 to 2013. In his club career, he led Winterthur, Kadeten Schaffhausen, Münden, and his last club was Kriens from Lucerne.
