Technical malfunction or human error? These two versions are in circulation with the Bulgarian authorities as the cause of the tragedy with the bus on the Struma highway in which 46 people died early this morning.

"I think it's about both things. The bus first hit the right guardrail and then went to the left. Much of the protective fence separating the two lanes is missing - perhaps 100 meters. The bus doors are not open. "Either the driver did not react to open them or we are talking about damage that did not allow them to open. It remains a mystery why the bus doors are not open. "It is important to look for the manufacturer of the buses," Dimitar Dimitrov told Bulgaria ONAir, from the Aviation Chamber of Road Carriers.

He expressed suspicion that the impact on the protective fence caused the fire.

"Zoran Zaev said people managed to get out of the back of the bus. The engines of the bus are there, the fire did not start from the engines. This is a small bus for 52 people, in this case there are not many possibilities for importing oil pipes. "The explosion that everyone is talking about is probably the bursting of the tire," Dimitrov added.

"We can not unequivocally blame the section, the human factor is very important. There is no comfortable place for drivers to rest. "We do not know if there were two drivers or one driver was waiting," Dimitrov said.
