The actress was just 11 when she played a prostitute in the 1978 film Pretty Baby, in which she was forced to kiss co-star Keith Carradine, who was 27 at the time. Her mother, Terri Shields, reportedly stood by and watched the scene unfold as Carradine assured the child star that it was all "made up."

"I don't know why you thought everything was fine." I don't know" - she said in a new interview for The Sunday Times. Her mother died in 2012 at the age of 80, after a long illness related to dementia.

The actress and said film will be the subject of the documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, in which the actress and model "become a woman who discovers her power after being sexualized as a young girl," according to the synopsis.

The documentary also features a scene in which her daughter Rowan describes her mother's childhood career as "child pornography".

"It's child pornography!" Would you let us do that at 11 years old?. It was hard for me not to justify my mother to them, but when they asked me, I thought, "Oh my God, I have to admit this." But I don't know why he thought everything was fine," says Shields, who explains to her two daughters in the documentary that she would never let them watch "Pretty Baby."

When Shields was just 10 years old, she posed nude for Playboy, and at 14, she became the youngest model to grace the cover of Vogue.

The Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields trailer opens with Brooke as a teenager being asked what she thinks about "the noise that's going on around her" while sitting next to her mother, and she smiles and replies, "I think it's fun." The reporter then tells her that she really is a "great looking young lady" and a "wonderful girl".

Speaking in the documentary, Brooke admits she's "amazed she survived all that" and reveals she was raped in a hotel room by a film industry man in her early 20s.

The two-part documentary, also titled "Pretty Baby," will premiere April 3 on Hulu.
