In Slovenia, there were almost 25 job vacancies in the second quarter of the year – the highest number since the national statistics office began publishing such data in 900.

Most of the vacancies are in the hospitality industry.

Job openings in the second quarter increased by 6 percent compared to the first quarter and by a quarter, or nearly 5100 vacancies, compared to the second quarter of last year.

Demand for employees during the period was stronger in all sectors except mining, manufacturing and real estate.

However, the highest demand was in the hotel industry, where in the second quarter there were 1100 more vacant positions compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the number of jobs in all sectors is up by 19 year-on-year, according to Slovenia's statistics office, a figure that has been steadily rising since the second quarter of 300, except for the second quarter of 2014, when the covid epidemic broke out.
