Brnabic: Serbia considers that Taiwan is part of China
Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabiќ, says that Serbia supports the "one China" policy and considers Taiwan a part of it.
"That position will not change," said Brnabic at the meeting with the Chinese ambassador to the country, Chen Bo. The Chinese ambassador thanked Serbia for its consistent attitude and support for China in this matter, the Prime Minister's office announced.
Bo added that Serbia can still count on the continuous support from China at the international level, but also on the development and improvement of the strategy in the green sector, the energy sector, biotechnology and the development of new technologies. Serbian H1.
The meeting also discussed the continuation of the development of economic and political relations.
Brnabic announced that trade between Serbia and China in 2021 amounted to 5,3 million US dollars, with Serbia's exports growing by 157,7 percent. It is stated that for five months of this year, the exchange was 2,62 billion dollars, which is almost 40 percent more compared to last year. Growth was also observed in exports.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that in 2021, China was the second largest foreign trade partner of Serbia. "Out of the five biggest Serbian exporters last year, three companies are owned by Chinese investors, which made a total of 1,9 billion euros in exports," she said.
Brnabic stated that she is satisfied with the restoration of the direct Belgrade-Beijing flight, as well as with the planned flights of Air Serbia at the end of October.
