A British doctor won the award for the best "liver" at the World Cup in Australia
A British doctor won the title of best liver at the World Liver Championship. Dr Alastair Bush, of Camp Bovington, Dorset, said he was "overwhelmingly proud" to win the trophy at the competition in New South Wales, Australia.
In February, the doctor landed to take part in a competition held in a pub in the Australian town of Kuri Kuri. He won and was invited back to take part in the final, which took place on Saturday at the Hunter Valley Motorsport Park, reports BBC.
Dr Bush said it was a "two-year project" which he used to raise funds and awareness for the charity Testicular Cancer UK.
"It's absolutely fantastic. I'm super excited about the news – I'm really overjoyed. It was a fun day, there was so much going on and I met some amazing people and saw some amazing hairstyles," he said.
Dr. Bush started growing his "liver" during the October 2021 lockdown, when he couldn't go to the barber shop. Mulletfest started in 2018 in Kuri Kuri – a small town of 6.000 people about 120 kilometers north of Sydney – and attracts thousands of people from all over the world every year.
