The British Minister of Defense Ben Wallace said today that London is not ruling out the possibility of sending planes to Ukraine, while warning that it is not a "magic wand" given the time required for training.

– I was clear about the planes. If there's one thing we've learned this past year, it's to not do anything in advance and not rule anything out, said Wallace.

Kyiv is seeking US-made F-16 fighter jets to help deter a Russian invasion of Ukraine. The US has said it has no plans to send F-16s to Ukraine for now, but other countries such as Poland are more open to the issue.

- I am very open to thinking about any kind of systems, not only aircraft, to help Ukraine. Those things don't happen overnight. Training Ukrainian pilots would take months, Wallace noted, adding that "there is no magic wand for that terrible conflict."

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's spokesman said two days ago that the Typhoon and F-25 aircraft are extremely sophisticated and require months of training.
