"Young people are leaving the region and that is no longer breaking news in the media. "We need to understand their message, and that is that the choice of destination shows what they lack in their society, we need to observe, listen and most importantly act and give young people a reason to stay," Bregu said.

She added that "Europe is not the borders, the geography, nor the DNA written who is a European. "What we believe in and what we fight for does not cost us Europeans."

The EU-Western Balkans Youth Forum brought together 88 young people and mentors from all 27 EU member states and the 6 countries of the Western Balkans, organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the RSS. The conclusions of the Forum will be submitted to the "Conference on the Future of Europe" launched by the EU during 2021 and as an activity for 2022, the RSS said.
