Borisov resigns from his parliamentary seat
The leader of the GERB party, which won the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, has officially announced that he will not be an MP.
The CEC approved the request submitted by him, with which he refuses to be appointed as an elected representative from two regions - Sofia and Plovdiv, and two deputies will come in his place.
The former Minister of Transport of Bulgaria during the government of Kiril Petkov - Nikolai Sabev announced through a post on Facebook that he refuses to enter the 48th National Assembly, where he was elected from the city of Ruse. The CEC accepted Sabev's refusal.
Sabev wrote that today he sees that "We continue with the change" won the hearts of many Bulgarians and he is sure that what he started a year ago with this political project is already a reason for a large part of society.
Sabev writes that he never wanted to be a professional politician, and now believes that he will be more useful in improving the business environment than in the political scene in Bulgaria. He will continue to help his party, and in conclusion he wrote "We continue with the change!"
The Central Election Commission of Bulgaria announced the number of mandates won in the 48th National Assembly of Bulgaria GERB - SDS 67 deputies, "We continue with changes" - 53, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms - 36, "Rebirth" - 27, BSP - 25, "Democratic Bulgaria" - 20 and "Bulgarian Rise" - 12. Not a single independent candidate who is not a member of a political party or coalition will be elected in the new Bulgarian parliament.
