Borisov: It is clear to everyone that there will be new elections

"Bulgaria is already in a state where there is no talk of perspective, stability, security and goals," GERB leader Boyko Borisov said at the beginning of the party's National Conference.

"Yesterday, the vice-president said that the election of this parliament is illegitimate. This means that according to the presidential institution, all the decisions that are made are illegitimate. Then why do we gather on Monday to take the oath, why is this day and time given? It is within the competence of the president to convene the Constitutional Court and cancel the elections, not to continue these games with partial cancellations," he commented.

"It is clear to everyone that there will be new elections. All parties behave as if they are in an election campaign. "This is my last attempt until Monday to have a wiser political class," said Borisov.

He called on Vice President Iliana Jotova to apologize for yesterday's comment that the elections for the 51st National Assembly were illegitimate, or for President Radev to withdraw the decree.

That means a fight between the authorities, said Borisov, and thus an even more difficult political crisis. He stated that he believes that he leads a legitimately elected party.

"We are not giving up the position of President of the National Assembly, because it is a well-deserved position for our party," said Borisov.

After the extraordinary parliamentary elections on October 27, GERB-SDS is again the first political force and will have 69 deputies in the 51st parliament. After the vote, GERB leader Boyko Borisov said that he will make every effort for a regular government with a full mandate.
