Borisov: Both sides must compromise on some issues

Former Bulgarian Prime Minister and leader of the largest parliamentary opposition party, Boyko Borisov, during Silistra's visit, commented that historical issues, history, the work of textbooks, inscriptions and monuments are important, reports BGNES.

Borisov recalled Bulgaria's efforts from the time of President Zhelyu Zhelev to the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, supported by all political parties in Bulgaria. In it, according to Borisov, it is said what should be done and what commissions there should be.

He said that he found out yesterday "that the Republic of Northern Macedonia will not have territorial claims to Bulgaria".

"For so many years before me, no Macedonian politician has allowed himself to say such a thing - that they are giving up and will not have territorial claims to Bulgaria," said the former prime minister, recalling that Bulgaria was the first to support the Republic of Northern Macedonia to join NATO. its independence and wants it to join the EU.
