The boycott of stores in Croatia is a complete success – the turnover of supermarkets has decreased drastically

Croatia's tax administration this afternoon released new data showing the results of a civil boycott of stores in the country over high prices, organized by consumer protection associations.

According to the total data by 16 p.m., turnover in Croatian markets fell by 29 percent compared to last Friday, while the amount of bills was also lower, by 31 percent. But what best shows how Croats reacted to the boycott of stores is the data on retail activity, which shows that the number of bills fell by 43 percent compared to last Friday, and the amount of bills paid – by a full 50 percent.

The boycott of stores, retail chains and gas stations due to constant price increases, which is being done on the initiative of the Facebook group "Hello, Inspector", supported by the European Center for Consumer Excellence, is also supported by several consumer protection associations, unions, political parties, and even the country's Minister of Economy himself.
