The Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski said today that he is ready for a debate on the law on determining the legal status of illegally constructed buildings everywhere and at every level, and above all, with MPs.

When asked by a journalist about the initiative by MP Maja Moracanin for supervisory debate on the law on illegal constructions Bochvarski said that the law is necessary for the citizens. According to him, if the MPs are ready to vote, that will be fine, but if they refuse to discuss and vote, then the state will withdraw it.

As for the Law on Illegally Constructed Buildings, we are ready for a debate everywhere and at every level with the MPs, primarily because I believe that this law is necessary for the citizens of our country who need a roof over their heads because of the social aspect in the country and therefore we are ready to discuss both in the Assembly and outside the Assembly. If the state is ready, if the MPs are ready to pass such a law in the majority, that will be fine, but if the MPs refuse to discuss and refuse to pass such a law, then the state will withdraw that law and therefore we are ready, we discuss as well. until now. It is important for citizens to know that we care about their problems. We do not put their problems under the carpet, but we openly discuss and so we will continue in the future, said Bochvarski, after inspecting the construction works on the section Krupiste-Kocani.

Bocavrski presented the new Draft-Law on obtaining legal status of illegally constructed buildings in December last year. It will be able to legalize illegally constructed buildings until January 1, 2021. A step-by-step method is provided for calculating the legalization fee, for a building up to 80 square meters the fee increases by 50 percent of the basic utility cost, and for buildings over 80 square meters, that fee increases by 100 percent.

Compensation for legalization of illegal buildings, according to the proposal, will not be paid by socially disadvantaged citizens and persons with incomes up to 180 thousand denars net annual income, which increases the coverage of citizens who are exempt from this compensation.
