CNN embarrassment: Journalist does not know from which city he reports on COP26, Glasgow replaces him with Edinburgh
Everything has been shaking since the very mention of CNN. The rise began in the 1990s, and then in recent decades there has been a major decline in this media house, which has become known for a series of quotes. From Tripoli to Lebanon, not Libya to Glasgow, sorry Edinburgh.
Thus, the famous journalist of this media house, Wolf Blitzer, caused a real confusion with his tweet, after he published his picture that he was reporting from Edinburgh from the UN summit on climate change, which is actually being held in Glasgow.
Blitzer announced on his Twitter account that he and his team were in Scotland for the COP26 summit.
"I now report from Edinburgh, Scotland, where 20.000 world leaders and delegates gathered for the COP26 climate summit." he wrote, sharing his picture, with the castle of the capital in the background.
I'm now reporting from Edinburgh in Scotland where 20,000 world leaders and delegates have gathered for the COP26 Climate Summit. COP, by the way, stands for "Conference of the Parties." It's the 26th time they have gathered to discuss and take action on this critical issue. pic.twitter.com/BGTAeU5cBy

And then thousands of his media followers started writing to Blitzer that the COP26 summit was not being held in Edinburgh, but in Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, 72 miles (XNUMX km) away.
And then the ridicule of CNN reporters began. Former British MP Douglas Carswell was among many who jokingly accused the CNN host of "fake news", adding that "COP26 is happening in Glasgow".
Media Guido, a right-wing satirical news agency, called the announcement a "mistake of a classic American tourist." Australian comedian Craig Rukasel followed suit, noting "Say you're an American without saying you're an American."

"Forgive me if I get information from a news organization that managed to get to the right city." wrote the author James Felton, who shared a meme based on a sketch from the American TV show "The Office", in which an American journalist fails to distinguish between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Boris also made fun of him
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson joined the ridicule of CNN reporters, saying that Blitzer seemed to have "all the necessary qualities to become my next foreign minister".
Although it is estimated that about 20 percent of COP25.000's 26 participants will stay in Edinburgh and travel to Glasgow, Blitzer's relocated show is more than an hour's drive from where world leaders gathered on Monday.
