Blagoja Varoshanec was elected president of MNK ICOM

At the regular Electoral Assembly of the MNK ICOM Association, held on 26.12.2022 at the NU Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia, Blagoja Varoshanec (NU Museum of Contemporary Art - Skopje) was elected president of MNK ICOM.
At the Electoral Assembly, Ana Vishinova (NU Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence - Skopje) was elected as secretary, Strahil M. as member of the Executive Board. Petrovski (NU National Conservation Center Skopje), Nade Genevska Bračić (NU Institute and Museum Bitola) and Valentina Todoroska (NU Archaeological Museum of North Macedonia), and Irena Kolishtrkoska Nasteva (retired archaeologist) was elected as the President of the Assembly of MNK ICOM. with a mandate from 2023-2025.
The Paris-based International Council of Museums (ICOM) is an international network of museums and museum professionals established in 1946, which today counts over 40.000 professional individual members in over 141 countries worldwide, 119 national committees and 30 international committees.
ICOM established International Museum Day in 1977 to raise public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society, and since then this event has steadily gained in importance.
ICOM – International Council of Museums is an organization established to create a network of museums and museum professionals from countries around the world, who care about cultural and natural heritage. The Republic of North Macedonia joined that network with the establishment of the Macedonian National Committee (MNK) on May 12, 1993, and it was verified by the Executive Council of ICOM in Paris.
