"He was a great man and a great poet": The commemoration in honor of Bora Chorba was held in Čacak

Today, the commemoration was held in honor of the Serbian musician and frontman of the group "Riblja Chorba". Borisav Djordjevic – Bora. The Culture Center in Čacak was attended by members of his family, friends and citizens of Čačak, who said goodbye to the legendary singer, songwriter and author of more than ten books, reported "Today".

On the screen in the Culture Center, during the commemoration, photos from Bora's life, his album covers, as well as pictures from numerous tours alternated.

The mayor Milun Todorovic said that "Bora Chachan was an old ghost."

"We have been friends for life. He was great as a poet. We will fulfill his every wish. Eternal glory to you, legend," said the mayor.

The musician Zika Jelic, from the Yu Group, said that Bora was a great man.

"He was never frowning, but a good friend and a great poet." I remember one detail when he wrote me a song that I wanted to change, but he told me how to sing it and that nothing should be changed. Kudos to him," Jelic said.

Nikola Zoric from the group "Riblja Chorba" says that their latest studio album has already been recorded and will be released soon.

"The 'Love and Death' album will be released, probably on his birthday," he said.

The commemoration was also attended by the singer of folk music, Miroslav Ilic.

"I haven't often had the opportunity to accompany someone. "For me, you were always the best and I was proud to point out that we are friends and comrades," said Ilic.

Serbian artist and illustrator Jugoslav Vlahovic stressed that Bora never changed friends and associates.

"We worked together on the covers. We were looking for motives for provocation. He was a spiritual and humble man. The biggest recognition was for the album 'Uzbuna' a few years ago," said Vlahovic.

The Serbian Minister of Culture, Nikola Selakovic, said that Bora painted life as it is with his words.

"He will be with us forever." "He not only sang for our city, he united many generations with his songs," said Selakovic.

According to his wish, Bora Djordjevic will be buried today in his native Čacak.
