Ben Affleck engraved a romantic message on Jennifer Lopez's ring
The singer's love story Jennifer Lopez and the actor Ben Affleck is truly amazing. But Lopez reveals that the road to their happy ending was not so easy.
In a new interview with Apple Music, the singer opened up about her rekindled romance with the actor and recalled the pain she felt when they broke up in 2004.
"I felt a lot of pain after we broke up. My heart has never been more broken since the moment we called off our wedding 20 years ago. "Honestly, I felt like I was dying," says Lopez.
"For the next 18 years, I was absolutely confused and couldn't get things right. But now, 20 years later, we have a happy ending," she adds.
Lopez also revealed that her sparkling green diamond engagement ring has a hidden message. Namely, Affleck engraved her message: "No. I'm going. Nowhere".
"That's how he signed our electronic messages when we started talking again – 'Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere,'" the singer said.
She also announced that she will release a new album, This Is Me… Now, an updated version of her 2002 studio album This Is Me… Then.
"Now I think about the message of the album - if you, like me, have periods when you lose hope and almost give up, don't. True love does exist and some things last forever, that's the reality. I want to send that message to the world, and at the same time I have to be vulnerable," concludes the singer.
As a reminder, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck met on the set of "Gigli" in late 2001. They started their love affair around the middle of 2002 and as a couple received a lot of publicity. Because they were a favorite couple of the public, they were referred to as "Benifer" in the media.
Lopez first announced her engagement to the actor in November 2002, when Affleck gave her a six-carat pink diamond ring worth $1.200.000. Unfortunately, they canceled the wedding that was planned for September 14, 2003, and in early 2004 they announced the end of their engagement.
According to many, the video for the song "Jenny from the Block" by Jennifer Lopez, which also features Ben Affleck, is legendary and represents an important segment of American pop music from that period.
