Belgrade lawyer Cedomir Stojkovic has announced that he will file criminal charges against the Wagner group, certain diplomats and civil servants in Serbia, due to the recruitment of Serbian citizens for the war in Ukraine, reported Aljazeera.

Stojkovic, together with the "Oktobar" Group and the partner associations of Ukrainians and Russians, referring to the declared neutrality, reacts in this way to the information that Wagner is recruiting Serbs, which was published a few days ago by the Russian media.

- The information caused fierce reactions from the public in Serbia, and even from the leaders there, who, otherwise, refrain from any criticism of Russia and its war in Ukraine - the text of Aljezaira explains.

And while the leaders there, as the text says, limit themselves to timid condemnations, Stojkovic and the mentioned groups demand a decisive reaction from the state, whose laws otherwise prohibit participation in wars fought in other countries.

- We will file criminal charges and a request to investigate the activities of the Wagner group in Belgrade and in Serbia, of which there is no doubt - Stojkovic told Algezair.

According to him, things are very clear.

- The Wagner group was formed for the purpose of mobilizing people from abroad, outside the borders of Russia. That is the one fact. The second is that citizens of Serbia are being recruited to go to war. There is no doubt that Wagner is active throughout Belgrade and throughout Serbia and that he is mobilizing its citizens. There is no doubt that individuals from the diplomatic corps are also involved in this. There is also no doubt that some civil servants tolerate it even though it is their job to prevent such things. As we see, no one is stopping it - he added.

By the way, Stojkovic's law office introduced sanctions on Russia last year, which is interpreted more as a symbolic move.

Recalling that in recent days numerous information and recordings could be seen on the Internet, according to which soldiers from Serbia are training with the Russian armed forces. But against the public controversies surrounding the reliability of such content, Stojkovic claims that things are clear on that issue as well.

- The State of Serbia trusts the Russian media, and they announced that recruitment was carried out in Serbia. Thus, Serbia should ban the Russian media for spreading false information or, if it believes them, act according to the law - explained Stojkovic.

For him personally, there are no doubts.

- On the tapes, there are statements of Russians and Serbs explaining themselves - he stated.

The television also recalls the statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic after the announcement of the information about the recruitment.

- That is not fair from Russia - said Vucic.
