The Serbian Olympians who won the gold, silver and bronze medals were welcomed in front of the Belgrade City Hall, and among the gathered citizens were heard, as announced by the initiative "Kreni-permeni" and messages of the type "Rio Tinto, march from Serbia".

Namely, the "Kreni-promeni" initiative published a video in which the gathered citizens can be heard shouting slogans against the company that plans to mine lithium in the Jadra Valley, in Gornji Nedeljice, while waving Serbian flags.

Also, on the same recording, a part of the song "March on the Drina" could be heard, he reports H1 publishing video.

The gathered citizens unfurled banners that read "You will not dig" and "Freedom for environmental activists".

The police detained the activists. As announced by the "Kreni-promeni" movement, lawyers and representatives of that organization went to the police station.

As a reminder, a large protest against lithium mining was held in Belgrade on Saturday. At the protest, three activists Ivan Bjelic, Nikola Ristic and Yevenij Julian Dimitrijevic were sentenced to 40 and 30 days in prison, respectively, and their lawyer filed an appeal.

Judge Goran Milutinovic, however, sent to prison the three activists who participated in the blockade of the railway after the protest against lithium mining and accused them of disturbing public order and peace "with indecent, insolent and reckless behavior".
