The White House rejects the WHO call for an end to revaccination

The White House has rejected a WHO call for an end to the third dose of Covid-19 vaccine, saying the United States should not choose between giving a third dose to its citizens and donating the vaccine to third countries.
- That is a wrong alternative. We think we can do both and we should not have to choose between vaccinating Americans, which is not yet officially planned, and helping poor countries. said Jen Psaki, a White House spokeswoman, commenting on the WHO call.

She reminded that the United States has already distributed more than 100 million doses of vaccines to poorer countries, which is more than the donations from all other countries in the world combined.

The United States has not yet made a decision on revaccination, and Germany and Israel have decided to do so, especially for senior citizens.

The WHO yesterday called for an end to third-dose revaccination, at least until the end of September, to give more vaccines to poorer countries.
