The White House is in favor of extending the operational pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas

The United States supports further extending the operational ceasefire between Israel and Hamas to ensure the release of all hostages being held captive, the White House said.

"We want to see all the hostages released." If the break can be extended beyond these two-day extensions… we're all for it. And we will continue to work on this all the time with all of our partners in the region, said White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

Asked about Secretary of State Antony Blinken's upcoming visit to the Middle East, Kirby said his fourth visit will primarily focus on reaffirming US support for Israel and facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza.

He further added that Blinken will meet with his Israeli colleagues and other representatives from the region.
