Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi considers the price of electricity offered by ESM one 48 euros, is neither unrealistic nor political, but a responsible decision.

- The average price per megawatt hour of electricity for the period July-December 2022 on the stock exchanges is around 350 euros. In conditions of energy crisis, as a responsible Government, we always meet the needs of the citizens, and we will continue in the future, said Bekteshi.

The Minister reiterated that with the measures taken by the Government so far, 80% of the electricity bills for households have been reimbursed and over 60.000 companies are covered by the Government.

- In this direction we will continue in order to protect the citizens from price shocks, said Bekteshi.

AD ESM announced today that the offered price of produced electricity of 48 euros per megawatt-hour for the period July-December 2022 is due to the enormous increase in energy prices globally, as well as their unavailability, especially during the heating season.

The price for the previous six months, January-June 2022 was 41 euros per megawatt-hour.
