The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj called on the leaders of the Albanians to fight against intra-Albanian divisions and discords and said that the Albanians as a nation should rely on their strategic partners.

In his address at the event on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the Prizren League, Begaj said that the future of the Albanian nation "will be brighter" if the past is not forgotten and "if the values ​​of patriotism and friendship are passed on to the new generations."

"We are lucky that our ancestors, apart from language and culture, also left us old friendships and reliable strategic partners that we can rely on at any time. Things have not always been easy, but the future of our nation will be brighter if we fight against the divisions and discords between us, if we preserve our moral integrity and if the values ​​of patriotism and friendship, the values ​​of peace and unity are passed on to the new generations, said Begay.

At the event in Prizren, which was attended by the entire state leadership of Kosovo, including President Vjosa Osmani, Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca and the Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Begaj was the highest state representative of the Republic of Albania.

The media in Pristina note that Begaj's messages come at a time when the Kosovo leadership, primarily Prime Minister Kurti, is confronting the Western allies, i.e. the United States and the European Union, but also Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, regarding their demands and proposals for appeasement. on the situation in northern Kosovo, where the majority Serb population started protests against the newly elected Albanian mayors in the four municipalities there two weeks ago.
