A baby was born in India with a total of 26 fingers and toes. Namely, the girl, born in the Indian federal state of Rajasthan, has seven fingers and six toes. reports "Daily Mail".

Doctors have described her condition as a genetic anomaly, but family members are thrilled. They believe that the girl is a reincarnated version of Dolagar Devi, a local goddess whose temple is located near where she was born. According to the goddess statues, Dolagar Devi had several hands.

The baby's mother, 25-year-old Sarya Devi is very happy about it.

“My sister gave birth to a baby who has 26 fingers and we believe it is the reincarnation of Dolagar Devi. We are very happy," said the baby's uncle.

The doctor from the hospital, where the baby was born, confirmed that the baby is healthy.

"There is no harm in having 26 fingers, but it is a genetic anomaly. Otherwise, the girl is absolutely healthy," said the doctor.

For now, it is not known if the family plans to have their newborn girl undergo a specific operation.
