The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has appointed Major General Bashkim Jashari as the new Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), after today's resignation of the current Commander Rahman Rama, MIA reports from Pristina.
According to Osmani's cabinet, the appointment was made in accordance with the FSK Law, at the proposal of Defense Minister Armend Mehaj and on the recommendation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
- Before the appointment of the new commander of the KSF, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, in accordance with the legal provisions, signed the decree on dismissal of the current commander of the KSF, Lieutenant General Rahman Rama, after he resigned, said Osmani's cabinet.
Shortly before the announcement, the media in Pristina reported that Rama had offered Osmani's resignation, citing his disagreement with Minister Mehaj.
The new FSK commander, 44-year-old Bashkim Jashari, is the son of Rifat Jashari, who is the brother of the founder, or, as he is called in Kosovo, the legendary commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Adem Jashari.
