Basha: Zaev-Rama-Vucic meeting was only for photos, mutual recognition Kosovo-Serbia is needed
The leader of Albania's main opposition force, the Democratic Party (PD), Lulzim Basha, reacted to a meeting in Skopje between Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, MIA reports from Tirana.
Basha says that "their quick meetings produce nothing new but photos" and adds that the first step to be taken is the mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia, and then to continue free movement in the region.
- I think that meetings happen so often, I do not know what they produce other than photos. For free movement in the region to work, urgent work must be done to eliminate the last threat to peace and stability in the region, which is the mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia. Free movement is the goal and demand of all processes in which the countries of the Western Balkans are involved, since the European integration process and the Berlin process. So, having the desire to go out in these hot days to take pictures is not a big surprise for me, let them spare us from a cliché film, which turns into an alibi for the stagnation in the country, says Basha.
He indicated that the Democratic Party supports the dialogue.
- We as a party support the dialogue, but we did not leave any dilemma for the end of this dialogue. We are happy that the US and the EU are clear when it comes to this goal, said Basha.
Otherwise, the Albanian media gave wide space for the Economic Forum held in Skopje, the signing of the memoranda, the statements of the leaders, as well as their position that in the "Open Balkans" there is a place for all countries in this region.
