Barnes in Kyiv for a meeting with Zelensky
CIA Director William Barnes is in the Ukrainian capital to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and his intelligence colleagues. Barnes was safe in the US embassy during the Russian missile attacks on Kyiv.
His trip follows a meeting Monday in Turkey with his Russian intelligence counterpart, Sergei Naryshkin.
According to a US official, Burns "discussed his warning to the head of Russia's Ministry of Defense against the use of nuclear weapons and reinforced the US commitment to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression."
