The Ballists cooperated with the fascists - will the changes in the law also apply to the Tetovo "Ballists"?

Last month, with the support of the government and the opposition, they were adopted in the Parliament changes in the Law on Associations and Foundations, which prevent the opening of associations that glorify Nazism and fascism. It was a response to the newly opened associations with cultural clubs of the Bulgarians in the country. But what about the "Balistas", the Tetovo fan group that celebrated 30 years of existence this week? Will the legal amendments apply to them as well, if we know who the historical ballistas are - domestic traitors and fascist servants who occupied half of Macedonia in the Second World War?

These questions are asked by the Tetovo architect Bosko Vidoeski, who notes that the fan group, which has publicly used the pro-fascist name for decades, even held a celebration this weekend at the city's Cultural Center named after the folk hero Iljo Anteski-Smok, and the ballisticians in 1943 condemned him to death and executed him in the prison in Tirana, together with five other Macedonian partisans and communists.

"Even a dead man does not rest in peace." The time has come for a fan group named after collaborators of Hitler and Mussolini to have some kind of celebration in a facility named after him. What an irony!" Vidoeski writes on Facebook, asking the media to write more about this.

He adds that silence trivializes such cases, and trivialization leads to it becoming normal, which is practically allowing fascism and Nazism to vampirize before our eyes.

"And no, you can't consider that "this is nothing terrible", trivializing the tragic symbolism of the choice of the location of the Friday celebration. I only hope that this choice was not intentional; and even if he was - that does not mean that he should not encounter a reaction! It is even more devastating that one of you pretends to be "ignorant" about your own contribution to the reincarnation of fascism and Nazism in Tetovo and in Macedonia," writes Vidoeski in the post.

The fans of Tetovo's "Shkendija" publicly write on social networks that Tetovo is the "heart of Albania", and such obvious incitement of national intolerance passes without any reaction from the competent institutions.

The Ballistas were members of the Albanian nationalist and pro-fascist movement, organized in the national front "Bali Kombtar". They made up the military part of the organization, which acted for the creation of Greater Albania. During most of the Second World War, the ballisticians were in direct conflict with the partisan units in Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. They had a particularly fierce reckoning with members of the NOV from Western Macedonia, committing murder, terror and looting of the Macedonian and other non-Albanian population. The political program of this organization included the unification of the "ethnic territories" of the Albanians and the creation of Greater Albania.

According to the latest legal amendments, it is now forbidden in Macedonia to open associations and foundations whose programs, goals, activities and actions are aimed at the violent collapse of the country's constitutional order, at inciting and calling for military aggression, as well as at inflaming national, racial, religious hatred or other intolerance, intolerance, hatred, genocide, extermination, spreading or supporting, inciting and endorsing fascism, Nazism, National Socialism and the Third Reich, as well as undertaking activities related to terrorism or activities contrary to the Constitution.

According to more of these criteria listed in the law, the existence of a group that calls itself "Ballists" and promotes the ideology and goals of the historical Ballists is now prohibited in the country.
