The United States will donate another 500 million doses of Pfizer vaccines to developing countries next year, US President Joe Biden announced today.

"To defeat the pandemic here, we must defeat it everywhere," Biden said at a virtual summit dedicated to Covid-19 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, promising an "arsenal of vaccines."

With the announced additional doses, the total amount of vaccines that the United States will donate around the world will exceed one billion. So far, they have distributed more than 160 million doses in over a hundred countries.

Biden explained that for every dose given so far in the United States, Washington has pledged to give three more to the rest of the world.
