Biden urges nation to step up arms lobby after Texas massacre
US President Joseph Biden addressed the White House nation after yesterday's massacre at a school in Texas in which, according to the latest information, 19 students and two adults were killed. Biden rhetorically asked when the United States would stand in the way of the "arms lobby."
"I hoped that as president I would not have to address myself like this. The mass shooting at a primary school in Yuvalde is another massacre in the United States… Beautiful, innocent children, from second, third, fourth grade. "And how many children were present and watching their friends die, as if on a battlefield."
Speaking about the size of the loss, the US President said that "losing a child is like tearing a part of the soul".

"It's like suffocating. I urge the nation to pray for the victims and to stand in the way of the arms lobby. Please give strength to the parents and brothers of those who died in this darkness that has befallen them. As a state, we must ask ourselves, when will we stand in the way of that arms lobby? "When we do what we know deep down we need to do," Biden added.
Referring to the Arms Control Act, Biden urged lawmakers to "turn this pain into action," recalling a similar incident at a Newtown-Connecticut elementary school in 2012 when he was vice president.
"I'm tired of everything, I'm tired. We must act. Do not just tell me that we can not react to this massacre. "Why do we allow that to happen?" Biden said.
