Biden promised "all necessary help" to Erdogan

US President Joe Biden spoke by phone with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, expressing his condolences on behalf of the American people and reaffirming Washington's readiness to provide "all necessary assistance" following the devastating earthquakes in southeastern Turkey.

Biden assured Erdogan that rescue teams sent by the US "will be rapidly deployed to support Turkish rescue efforts to search and rescue survivors and coordinate other assistance that may be needed for people affected by the earthquakes, including health care and the basics," the White House said after the conversation.
