Stefanija Aleksovska and Arhan Arslanovski led by the selector of the Macedonian youth bowling team - Igor Mihajlovski participated in Elva - Estonia on World Cup.

Without the sponsors and the Bitola bowling clubs, these two young talents would not have had the opportunity to compete with the strongest colleagues under 18 from 14 countries in the men's and women's categories, fighting for the title of world champion in the strongest competition. The federation believes in the young Macedonian capacities.

Our country managed to have a representative in the final, Arslanovski with an exceptional game managed to be among the best eight players with a result of 578 (205) placing seventh. Aleksovska had a result of 553 which was not enough to enter the finals and placed 12th.

In tandem mix, we placed 12th ahead of Italy and Estonia. Result 1109 (Arhan 564, Steffi 545)

As a nation we are with 12th overall results ahead of Italy and Estonia.

- In the competition of the best individuals from each of the 14 countries that played at the World Cup in Elva, Estonia, the Macedonian national team tried to give their best. Only Arhan managed to play better than his record, while Stefanija was below his best achievements. We could have done better and more, but that is an analysis that will be done additionally. Personally, I think that Arhan gave his maximum, although in key moments he was not served by sports luck, and physical (un) readiness was crucial in the final to not be able to withstand the blows in 3 matches within 24 hours, gaining a slight injury that defocused him for more significant game even though it started with a great set. Stefanija, on the other hand, although technically superior, failed to cope with the psychological pressure of such a big championship and for very small nuances, first failed to enter the final, although she showed a mature game, to have 290+ in two sets and to played bad 3 and 4 set.

The fact is that the Macedonian bowling in the next 3-5 years will fight to catch up with the bowling nations, in all age categories. The efforts made during this period were to provide a chance for the youngest to perform in a situation where the bowling federation has been in clinical death for a decade, as it was impossible before. Without very strong enthusiasm this outcome would have been impossible. Investing in the youngest is necessary for their bowling maturity if we want to have a quality senior national team. The need for measures and pressure on clubs to have youth schools is a necessity. Camps for young bowlers are a must. Professional development of the tracksuit staff in the clubs is necessary. The sooner we act, the sooner we can be truly competitive, no big challenges await us as a federation - says Mihajlovski, selector of the youth categories.
