Macedonia's debut performance at the European Championships marked the defeat of the "lynx" from Austria to 3: 1, but also the incident in the very finish of the match when Marko Arnautovic provoked Ezdzjan Alioski.
While scoring the third goal for Austria, Arnautovi до said a few words to Alioski, for which some of the media in the region reported that it was insulted on racial grounds.
Today, the Austrian national team member denies that:
- I was really struck by what was written about me. I am not a racist and I never will be. Provocations with opponents are part of the football game. After the match we stood next to each other, talked and cleared the matter - said Arnautovic.
Macedonia lost at the start of the European Championship, so now an even better game is expected in the matches against Ukraine and the Netherlands.
If anyone could provide a footage or a source that goes beyond “Informer”, I would be very greatful. https://t.co/6DSmLe8y6P
