If the first round of presidential elections in France take place tomorrow, the current head of state Emanuel Macron would be 10 points ahead of his two main opponents, this according to the research of Ipsos-Sopra Steria conducted for Le Monde, Jean Jaurès Foundation и Cevipov, MIA correspondent reports.

If the first round of the presidential election were held this week, Emmanuel Macron would have won the most votes. Published on Saturday, the new Ipsos-Sopra Steria poll conducted for Le Monde by the Jean Jaurès Foundation и Cevipov reveals that head of state will collect 25% of voting intentions, before Valery Pekres (LR-Republicans) и Marin Le Pen (RN) National Assembly)) both side by side with 15,5 percent of the electorate.

In the second round, the outgoing president would win over each of the two candidates, with 54 percent of the vote against. Valerie Pecres (46 percent) и 57 percent against Marine Le Pen (43 percent).

The survey was conducted among more than 12.500 people, и this research is on the same line as и many other recent polls. However, with a small drop for Eric Zemur (Reconket), whose result would not exceed 13 percent in the first round.

On the left, Jean-Luc Melenchon (LFI - Rebellious France) will be at the top of the voting list with 8%, ahead of Yannick Jado (EELV- * Green, 7%), former Francois Hollande Justice Minister Christian Taubira (5 percent) и Ann Hidalgo (PS-Socialists, 3,5%). But this weakness in the results of the left is accompanied by strong hesitation among its various candidates. About 54% of respondents who said they wanted to vote for Jean-Luc Melanchon said they were confident in their choice. The percentage drops to 36 percent for Yannick Jado, 30 percent for Ann Hidalgo и 27 percent for Christian Taubira.

In contrast, 72% of respondents who would choose Le Pen's newsletter are confident in their choice. The percentage is 68% for Emanuel Macron, 63% for Eric Zemur и 47 percent for Valerie Pekres.

Emanuel Macron's potential voters would go, in case of hesitation, up to 40% to Valerie Pecres as second choice. Those of Valerie Pecres would be 43% to vote for the current head of state as second choice, much more than for Eric Zemour (23%) or Marine Le Pen (22%). For their part, the respondents attracted by Marine Le Pen's candidacy are 51% who will choose Eric Zemur as second choice. Those who are they in the second round are 37 percent to put the RN candidate as second choice.

Intention to vote is not a prognosis for the outcome of the vote. They give an indication of the balance of power и the dynamics of the research day. This survey was conducted from 14 to 17 January with a sample of 12.542 French enrolled on the voter lists, with a margin of error between 0,2 и 0,9 points.
