The Crisis Management Center is ready to be made available to all bodies and institutions, but also to the citizens in the upcoming winter period when heavier snowfall is possible. The state has a plan of action in such conditions, primarily aimed at maintaining highways and regional roads. The problem is the insufficient number of vehicles and mechanization available to the PE "Macedonia Road" and their frequent defects. It is also necessary for the local self-governments to be prepared, considering that the local roads are under their jurisdiction.

This is the message sent today by the press conference at the Crisis Management Center regarding the coordination for road maintenance and prevention of winter conditions in the country.

The director of the CMC Stojance Angelov pointed out that yesterday there was a coordination meeting of the entities involved in the crisis management system and that it was stated that the PE "Macedonia Road" has a plan of action. According to him, the problem may be the small number of vehicles available to the public enterprise for this purpose.

- Unfortunately, from what we could conclude yesterday, the number of vehicles owned by PE "Macedonia Road" is not enough and it is not new. This situation lasts not for years, but for decades. Despite the fact that there are not enough vehicles, some of the existing vehicles are quite outdated and it often happens that while intervening on the roads, there are various defects that are removed on the spot, so that they can continue cleaning, said Angelov.

However, he added, our obligation as a country is to be ready at all times, regardless of the forecasts, because it is expected that in December, January and February there will be more snowfall at any time.

- We as CMC are at the disposal of the citizens whenever there is a threat to their life, health or material goods. They should call the number 195, and we in coordination with the police, and if necessary with the Army, will help everyone who needs help, said Angelov.

Dragi Tarcugovski from CMC clarified that yesterday at the coordination meeting participated representatives of the HMS, PE "Macedonia Road", Ministry of Interior, ARM, PE Railways and Infrastructure, Directorate for Protection and Rescue, the Red Cross and AMSM.

- The general conclusion from the meeting is that PE "Macedonia Road" has and shared the plan for winter road maintenance. They are divided into four categories according to priority and will be cleaned in accordance with the limited capabilities and capacities of the public enterprise, as well as using the services of companies with which it has concluded contracts and which have adequate machinery and human resources, said Tarcugovski. .

Note that local roads are under the jurisdiction of local governments and the City of Skopje. He therefore appealed to them to check the agreements they have with companies and individuals.

- I appeal to the municipalities to check the contracts for winter maintenance of the roads and to have data on the possibilities and capacities available to the companies that have mechanization, what human resources, whether the mechanization is in good condition and whether they have sufficient quantities of salt. , he pointed out.

He reminded that the obligation of the citizens and the trade companies to clean the snow on the sidewalks in front of their homes and buildings remains in order to enable smooth and safe movement of the citizens.
