The director of the Crisis Management Center, Stojanche Angelov, informed that today 13 open fires were registered on the territory of the state, of which 9 of them are active. Angelov indicated that the afternoon rains helped extinguish the fire in Mariovo, Prilep, which earlier today he indicated as the most complicated.

- Early this morning, 100 members of the army, 25 members of the police special forces "Tigers", 30 employees of "National Forests", as well as two teams from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue with more than 25 people were sent there. The Prilep firemen are also on the ground, and there is help from the firemen from the surrounding towns - said Angelov.

He pointed out that currently only one "Air Tractor" of the Protection and Rescue Directorate is functional, while the other two planes of the SSO, as well as the two police helicopters, are defective.

- At around 10:XNUMX am, an "Air tractor" of the SSO helped extinguish the fire. Unfortunately, the other two are malfunctioning and unable to fly. The same thing is happening with the two police helicopters that are defective, but we are optimistic that during tomorrow the big police helicopter will be functional and we will be able to use it during tomorrow - said Angelov.

There are also bigger fires in Derven, the village of Smolane, Municipality of Dolneni and Katlanovo in Skopje. The fire at Katlanovo has been active since yesterday because the terrain is difficult to extinguish, but Angelov says that there is no threat and there is no danger that houses will be endangered.
