Angelina Jolie: A tribute to the brave, defiant, fearless women of Iran

A famous Oscar winner and humanitarian Angelina Jolie through social networks expressed his support for the ongoing protests in Iran after the death of the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.

To recall, Amini died on September 16th in Iran after being detained by the state's morality police for allegedly violating the dress code. Immediately after her death, protests broke out, and in the riots that are still ongoing and taking place all over Europe, numerous women burned their hijabs and cut their hair in their sign.

The actress shared several photos taken on the streets of Iran on her Instagram profile, raising awareness of the current situation in the Middle East.

"A tribute to the brave, defiant, fearless women of Iran." All those who have survived and resisted for decades, all those who are taking to the streets today, Mahsa Amini and all young Iranian women like her" – reads the description of both Jolie.

The Oscar winner continues with her lengthy announcement:

"Women do not need their morals policed, their minds reeducated, or their bodies controlled. They need freedom to live and breathe without violence and threats," concluded the 47-year-old actress.

On her profile, Jolie briefly explained about the conflict that is happening in the country and wrote that the protests in Iran are taking place for the 12th night in a row, and started in response to the death of the 22-year-old girl.

"Since the beginning of the protests, the interventionist police have attacked the demonstrators using brutal force, and more than 70 people have reportedly been killed," added the famous actress.
