Diana Rusinova from the European Center for Transport Policy of Bulgaria analyzed drone footage on the road section of the Struma highway, where the big accident with the Macedonian bus happened, writes BTV.

According to her, it is mandatory to determine the condition of the road signs in that section, as well as a few kilometers back, to see if they confused the driver and led to difficulties in following the road.

It is quite possible that the sign for the island was missing or the driver did not see it, or he fell asleep, the expert said.

According to her, the drone footage clearly shows how he tried to stabilize the bus after losing control, but then crashed into the protective fence.

That can happen. "But I can not say at what exact moment it happened," she added.

Another shot shows a sign placed on the island on the road. According to Rusinova, that sign was not placed correctly and was placed too high.

That sign should be placed lower to be seen better, explained Diana Rusinova.

The sign is not visible

I am not sure that this sign was there and it is good to check if it is in the ruins, because the recordings are not visible, added the road expert.

According to her, light reflection should also be checked. The driver was probably wrongsaid Rusinova.
