Analysts: The call for a general strike has no clearly defined goal

Analyst Dejan Vuk Stankovic, speaking about today's call by students in the blockade and part of the opposition for a general strike, assessed that everything that is happening is difficult to analyze and fit into some rational coordinates, and added that this call does not have a clearly defined goal, writes Politics.

"There's no way anyone or anything can succeed without that. And at this moment there's no authority in the opposition that would say, let's sit down now, come to an agreement, come before this other on the side of some goals and some 'specific demands that support the realization of those goals,' so it's very difficult for me to describe this, and even harder to predict what could happen in the future," Stankovic told Tanjug.

According to him, it is difficult to say whether the strike was successful because, as he pointed out, it does not have a clear goal.

He added that he does not know who is leading all this, nor what he wants to achieve.

"If they want to achieve a transitional government, it has been made very clear that it will not make sense in the institutions of the system or in elections. It seems to me that we are slowly but surely approaching a story in which it will be acceptable for both options to hold elections under certain conditions," Stankovic believes.

In his assessment, the opposition is waiting for others to do the work it needs to do, which is to clearly articulate its demands.
