US lawmakers passed a temporary funding bill at the last minute to avoid shutting down the US government.

A surprising turn of events took place in Congress last night and a law was passed to finance the US Government, thus preventing the expected blockade at the last moment.

The law was backed by both Democratic and Republican lawmakers late last night, sending it to United States President Joe Biden for approval shortly before the midnight deadline. Biden signed the temporary funding bill.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a Republican, proposed the temporary funding measure, which was passed by 335 lawmakers, with 91 opposed.

After that, the bill passed in the Senate, where the majority is made up of Democrats. It is planned to finance the administration with emergency funds in the next 45 days, until November 17.
