The California Powerball jackpot winner who hit all six numbers claims he still hasn't received any of the money, almost two and a half months after the drawing. writes Yahoo Finance.

The man, named only as "Jerry", bought the winning ticket at a convenience store in Orange County on August 19 and won a whopping $44 million.

“It was exciting because you don't expect to hit all six figures. "You'd rather be struck by lightning than hit this," he says.

The statistical odds of winning are 1 in almost three hundred million.

"The verification process is really tedious and long. They won't tell you "you will get your money by that date". Everything is open, so I sit and wait for the call," he adds.

California lottery winners go through a rigorous vetting process. The average waiting time is six to eight weeks for payment.
