The administration of the American president Joe Biden is considering whether to designate the Russian mercenary organization Wagner as a foreign terrorist organization, a US official said.

Wagner is a mercenary organization that has been accused of war crimes in Africa and Syria, and is now heavily involved in the fighting in Ukraine, where it is openly fighting on Russia's side for the first time.

- The USA has not yet made a final decision on its inclusion in the list of terrorist groups, the official representative specifies.

The US has already put the group on its "blacklist", but the administration is trying to take an additional step.
