The Hollywood legend Al Pacino revealed in an interview with the New York Times that he overcame a severe form of covid in 2020 and felt "unusually ill" one day. He developed a high fever and became dehydrated, so a nurse came to his home to give him fluids. However, his condition further deteriorated.
– I was sitting in my house and simply disappeared, I went to another world... Tuku-taka. I had no pulse. Within minutes the ambulance arrived in front of my house. Six paramedics and two doctors, dressed in protective uniforms, rushed into the living room, as if they were from outer space. It was shocking to open your eyes and see that. Everyone was around me saying, “He's back. It's here" - Pacino (84) began his confession for the New York Times magazine.
The star of the cult movie "The Godfather" revealed what happened next.
– I fainted as soon as I said that I felt very bad. I had a high temperature, I was dehydrated - said the Oscar winner.
He then stated that he was later told that he almost experienced clinical death. His pulse was gone.
– I didn't see anything, not even a white light, there was nothing there. I've never thought about death, but you know actors, it sounds good to say I died once. What happens when there is nothing left? – asked Pacino.
He admitted that death now has a completely different meaning for him.
- It is the way it is. I'm not asking to die, it just happens and death just comes, like other things in life just come - he said and added that his only consolation is that he will leave behind his children and his great artistic work.
By the way, Pacino has three adult children and a one-year-old son, Roman Pacino, who he had with his girlfriend Nur Alfala, who is 54 years younger than him.
