Catering facilities in Greece will work for another week with limited working hours until midnight, without music and only with seated guests, sports competitions will continue to have an audience of up to ten percent of capacity or up to 1.000 people, and 50 percent of public and private employees. The private sector will continue to work from home, said the MIA correspondent from Athens.

The current measures in Greece, introduced at the end of 2021, have been extended for another week, something that was announced this morning by the Minister of Health of Greece, Thanos Plevris, speaking for the Greek television "ERT".

The Greek Ministry of Health announced this afternoon that at today's meeting of the competent commission of epidemiologists, the epidemiological data in the country were reviewed and it was unanimously decided to extend the measures for another week.

On December 30, 2021, limited working hours until midnight were introduced for restaurants, a ban on music, a ban on standing and a maximum of six guests at a table, sports competitions with an audience of up to ten percent of capacity or up to 1.000 people, and 50 percent of employees in the public and private sectors work from home.

Initially, the measures were planned to be in force until January 16, last week they were extended to January 23, and now they are extended for another week.

In the past 24 hours, 20.107 cases of Covid-19 were registered in Greece, out of 361.642 tests, 88 people died, and 683 patients (ten more than yesterday) were connected to the devices of the Intensive Care Units in hospitals.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 1.723.496 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Greece, and 22.285 people have died.
