"Glasen Tekstilec" says that after previous reports that they worked overtime, but also on Sundays, which were not paid to the workers, it turned out that the employer deleted this data from the system.

Accurate records of work done, and especially for those activities that are not excluded from the non-working week, open space for manipulation, which means that it is possible for some employers to "pick up" electronic devices and delete working hours. This serious weakness in the future legal solution was warned by the Association "Glasen Tekstilec", which bases the suspicions on the previous reports from the workers in the guild.

- Keeping electronic records of working hours is a legal obligation of the employer, according to the Law on Labor Relations. In this way, accurate data is entered on which days and how many working hours the employee worked. Unfortunately, this record is now kept by bosses, who often delete overtime and weekly work data - explains for "Free Press" Kristina Ampeva from "Glasen Tekstilec".

According to Ampeva, after previous reports in the Association that they worked overtime, but also on Sundays, which was not paid, and after the labor inspectors acted, it turned out that the employer deleted this data from the system.

- The problem arises after receiving the payrolls, which can be seen that they are missing money, but if the employee wants to prove that he worked on Sunday, he must initiate a lawsuit, which is too expensive and not everyone dares to start it, and let alone pay for it. This means hiring a forensic expert and appropriate economic and financial expertise, which is a long and arduous process. Most often, we receive reports regarding work for holidays, weekends, and especially for Sundays, which are not recorded for workers. That is why we want to alert and intercept future abuses from October - says Ampeva.

"Glasen Tekstilec" is decisive that if we really want to have a "non-working week", it is necessary that in addition to the bosses, the electronic records of working hours are displayed in the State Labor Inspectorate.

The Government has adopted the Draft-Law on Labor Relations, with the amendments of which Sunday will be a day of weekly rest from October 1 this year. Now he has to enter the parliamentary procedure. These workers for their work on Sunday will receive a daily wage higher by at least 50 percent of the regular wage, and will additionally receive a day off that they will use in the next seven days. According to the analysis, with these changes, Sunday will be a day of rest for over 92% of the workers in the country

- The implementation of the Law will be under the control of the State Labor Inspectorate, and those who do not comply with it, will face a 15-day work ban and a misdemeanor payment order - said Jovana Trenchevska, director of DIT.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy also points out that the Law provides for control by the competent institutions and penalties for all employers who do not comply with it, which is an additional guarantee that workers' rights are protected.
