Ageler: The announcement of the future prime minister that he will use the constitutional name during the oath is to be welcomed
The American ambassador Angela Ageler welcomes the announcement of the leader of VMRO-DPMNE and mandate holder of the future government, Hristijan Mickoski, that he will use the constitutional name of the state during his swearing-in as the future prime minister and in his performances abroad.
In an interview for "360 degrees", Ageler expresses hope that all ministers will follow his example.
- I will say that it was a disappointment for the leadership in Washington when the president decided not to use the constitutional name of the country when taking the oath and, frankly, what the future prime minister and ministers will do is something we welcome. As I understand it, the Standing Orders of the Assembly have been changed to include that (constitutional name) and I am delighted to see that, and I am very pleased and applauded his public appearance the other night in which he said he would respect the country's constitutional name when taking the oath, says Ageler.
He expects the future government to deliver the promises made during the election campaign as soon as possible.
- I expect to see how they, and it would be the same for any government that came to power, whether they will respond to the rhetoric from the campaign and the promises made with concrete actions. In the end, as a political party and government, you are judged by your actions as opposed to pre-election promises, which, frankly, can cover the entire spectrum of politics at election time, says Ageler in an interview with "360 Degrees".
The parliamentary session for the election of the new government begins on Saturday, and should end by Sunday midnight at the latest. Mandate Hristijan Mickoski announced that he will use the constitutional name of the state during the oath.
